I will talk about 2D instanton solutions in a nonlinear sigma model with the target space $F_2=SU(3)/U(1)^2$.
The model can be viewed as an effective model of various fundamental theories, e. g., $SU(3)$ pure Yang-Mills theory and $SU(3)$ antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model.
The target space $F_2$ is a non-Kähler manifold.
Unlike 2D sigma models whose target space is a Kähler manifold, the model has a non-topological energy bound.
It indicates that we cannot use the usual BPS trick.
I show that, however, we can derive instanton solutions through a coupled first order differential equation.
We also discuss a connection between the solutions and saddle point solutions in the $CP^2$ nonlinear sigma model.
